Gorillaz and Thundercat Share New “Cracker Island” Video

Gorillaz have released the video for their song “Cracker Island,” featuring Thundercat. The video was directed by artist and Gorillaz co-creator Jamie Hewlett and Fx Goby. The clip follows animated bandmates Russel Hobbs, Murdoc Niccals, 2-D, and Noodle into a hospital and in a conflict with the police. Take a look below.

“Think of it as the final scene in the movie, the bit after the grand finale when the hero (me) is about to stride into the sunset, credits rolling,” Murdoc shared in a statement. “That’s right, we’re starting at the end. Why? COS I WORK IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS.”

Gorillaz’s latest album, Song Machine: Season One – Strange Timez, was released in 2020, and featured guest contributions from Beck, St. Vincent, Elton John, the Cure’s Robert Smith, EarthGang, GoldLink, and more. The album included singles “Momentary Bliss” (featuring slowthai and Slaves), “Désole” (featuring Fatoumata Diawara), “Aries” (featuring Peter Hook and Georgia), “How Far?” (featuring Skepta and the late Tony Allen), “Friday 13th” (featuring Octavian), and “Pac-Man” (featuring Schoolboy Q).
