Gordo Drops Off Debut Album ‘DIAMANTE’

Gordo Drops Off Debut Album 'DIAMANTE'

Gordo – previously known as Carnage – has dropped off his debut album under his new moniker. In tribute to his birthname, the dynamic 16-track offering is dubbed DIAMANTE and sees the genre-defying Gordo establish his new era, complete with features from Drake, Larry June, Leon Bridges and Feid.

“There’s nothing I would change,” says Gordo of the album. “I suppose that’s why it took four years—to make sure I could look at it and know it’s perfect. This album is dedicated to my grandmother, my family, friends, and loved ones. I hope you enjoy what I believe to be some of the best music I’ve ever created.”

News of Drake’s contributions to DIAMANTE surfaced earlier this month, fueling much online excitement for the reunion of the Honestly, Nevermind collaborators. “Sideways” was confirmed to be a Drake feature, with the album’s final track – which remained blurred out upon its official reveal earlier this week – also coming from The Boy.

“Collaborating with an artist who has profoundly shaped the music scene over the past 15 years truly says something about my album,” added Gordo. “I’m grateful for his trust and confidence in my vision and happy to have him as part of my album. DIAMANTE wouldn’t be the same without him.”

Elsewhere, Gordo brings on the likes of Fuerza Regida, T-Pain, Rampa, Nicki Nicole and Maluma onto the album, tapping into a bevy of Latin sonic pockets across the high-energy LP.
