Google is seemingly working on developing a more advanced version of its Bard chatbot. Launched in May 2023, Google’s conversational AI bot was designed to be a competitor to ChatGPT but fell flat with many users compared to OpenAI’s model.
The company shared in December that it had a new Large language model (LLM) on the way called Gemini Ultra. When it releases in 2024, that technology is expected to power the new and improved chatbot, Bard Advanced.
Developer Dylan Roussel posted reverse-engineered screenshots of Google’s code on X that describe Bard Advanced as a “more capable large language model with advanced math and reasoning skills.”
Another piece of code points to a tool called “Motoko,” which would seemingly equip users to create their own chatbots.
The code also suggests that users will have to subscribe to Google One, the company’s cloud storage program, in order to access Bard Advanced.
Google has yet to officially confirm Bard Advanced. Stay tuned for more updates on the rumored chatbot.
hi, bard advanced will be free for 3 months and you’ll need Google One too, enjoysies
the fact that it’s in prod implies it’s ready & being tested (currently an experiment)
again, not a leaker, but Google keeps putting stuff in plain sight and literally nobody realizes… pic.twitter.com/YqfAK77f0F
