Glass Animals Drop Summer Bop “A Tear In Space (Airlock)”

Glass Animals Drop Summer Bop "A Tear In Space (Airlock)"

After announcing their Tour of Earth back in April, Glass Animals have returned with an all-new single, titled “A Tear in Space (Airlock),” in the lead-up to the release of their highly-anticipated fourth studio album, I LOVE YOU SO F***ING MUCH.

The summertime track arrives with a moody, black-and-white music video, directed by Taylor Fauntleroy and Drew Kirsch, which sees lead singer Dave Bayley fighting to travel through an industrial wind tunnel.

“A Tear in Space (Airlock)” wasn’t the band’s only cause for celebration on Friday. Around the same time of the song’s release, the group’s previous track “Heat Waves” went certified RIAA Diamond, four years after its record-breaking release. Notably, it was the first alternative track from an international band to receive the certification.

Looking ahead, Glass Animals is just over a month out from the release of I LOVE YOU SO F***ING MUCH, a 10-track record written and produced entirely by Bayley, on July 19. The album was born out of the frontman’s existential crisis that occurred as “he found himself struggling to make sense of Glass Animals‘ newfound global stardom following the massive success of Dreamland and ‘Heat Waves,’ especially having gone through it all during lockdown in the pandemic,” per an official release.

Ahead of the record’s debut, watch the official music video for Glass Animals’ “A Tear in Space (Airlock)” above.
