Ghostface Killah and Raekwon Reveal They Want a ‘VERZUZ’ Battle Against The LOX

Ghostface Killah and Raekwon have expressed their interest in wanting to go up against The LOX for VERZUZ. In a recent Drink Champs interview, the Wu-Tang members discussed why they wanted to up against The LOX.

At around the 54:30 mark, Ghost initially said that the duo did not know “who we really would go to in the ring with.” Raekwon then responded, “I know who. We would have to go after The LOX, man.” Ghost also added that The LOX is a major inspiration to him and that he “still make me go write.” He admitted, “I don’t get inspired by like, rap no more…But when I hear a couple of pieces coming from LOX and all that shit like that, you know what I mean, it’ll be like, ‘Oh shit.’”

Raekwon agrees with Ghost’s comments on The Lox, chiming in and expressing his love for the rapper as well, “I love The LOX, man. Them n***as is like us, and we love ‘em in real life.” N.O.R.E. also asked the pair if they would be willing to get into the VERZUZ ring with Kurupt and Daz Dillinger. The two appeared interested and welcomed the challenge.

Raekwon also expressed his thoughts on the VERZUZ platform and how it the flow and sequencing of the song could effect who wins the title, “One thing about VERZUZ, anybody could win if your list is right. It’s all about your list. So it ain’t really about your head getting blown off, it’s just all about you being strategic with what you think he may come out with, and counter. But Imma be honest with you, when they were doing all of that, wilin’ on each other, I respect it, because it was a night of battling. When you battling, you battling, even though it’s friendly competition.”

Rae also took the chance to reminisce on when he went up against Ghost in March, “To be honest with y’all, me and [Ghostface] set it off with that, because we was the ones that came before everybody else.”
