Ghana: Kwesi Arthur signs distro deal with Tieme Music

Ghana: Kwesi Arthur signs distro deal with Tieme Music

Established in 2022, Tieme Music works with the vision to help artists secure the right channels to distribute their work globally. So far, the company has gained success with a host of local talent, including Jay Bahd, Reggie Osei, Kwaku DMC, Skyface SDW, Ko-Jo Cue, Beeztrap KOTM and Xlimkid as well as Ivorian artist Himra.

The nine-track This Is Not the Tape III debuted on 17 January exclusively on direct-to-fan platform EVEN following the rapper’s 2022 album Son Of Jacob. At the time, Kwesi Arthur said the vision of the album’s rollout was to better connect with his niche while allowing independent artists like him to reclaim their artistic control. “Every cent or dollar you spend goes back into my art and empowers my ability to create more for you,” he said.

Tieme Music said: “… Kwesi Arthur who has over the years risen to the top of Ghana’s music scene, renowned for his captivating sound and dynamic artistry, joins the Tieme team with enthusiasm and purpose. This partnership only seems right as it comes at a time Kwesi Arthur is looking to expand his reach into new markets globally and is expressing his commitment to supporting Ghanaian-owned music companies and entrepreneurship in the music space.”

Tieme Music CEO Franck Osei added: “The partnership marks an exciting chapter in our company and we couldn’t be more honoured to amplify Kwesi Arthur’s incredible talent to audiences worldwide. Together, we’re poised to redefine the music landscape and bring unforgettable experiences to fans everywhere.”

On his part, Kwesi Arthur said he was impressed with what Tieme had done in the Ghanaian music industry within a short period of time. The first release under the new partnership will be his ‘Jungle Music Pt. 1’ single featuring IDK.

In May last year, Tieme secured a deal with American music and entertainment company The Orchard to bring its artists’ music to wider audiences while driving global collaborations for them.

“Our goal with this partnership is to be able to empower our label services for the artists we are currently working with as well as those who will join us in the future,” Franck Osei-Mensah said.
