The Future Fashion Summit in Paris held in October 2023, a curated event by Holly Wood Labs, brought together luxury fashion houses and digital brands. The panels delved into technology’s role in democratising fashion and improving customer experiences, as well as its use in customer relationship management. The summit aimed to explore the future of fashion through the lens of AR, VR, gaming, AI and other upcoming tech innovations.

In a panel discussion, Shreya Tyagi, Dior Innovation Manager, highlighted the potential of augmented reality, citing Dior’s Prefall 2023 show in Mumbai, which incorporated an AR experience. This innovative approach allows top-tier clients to engage in a ‘see now, buy now’ experience, enabling them to purchase collectibles while their physical items are being crafted. LVMH, Dior’s parent company, stressed the need for digital fashion to match the excellence of physical garments.

According to Geoffrey Perez, Global Head of Luxury at Snapchat’s maker, Snap, there’s a noticeable transition from mobile devices to wearables, with a focus on glasses for virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), or mixed reality, led by major companies like Meta and Google.

The summit also featured physical elements, including creative direction by the 300-year-old brand Kosta Boda, showcasing vibrant tableware by Hanna Hansdotter. Attendees were gifted near-field communication (NFC) chipped products from the Web3 beauty brand KIKI World.
