‘Fullmetal Alchemist’ is Receiving Two Live-Action Movies to Mark 20th-Anniversary

‘Fullmetal Alchemist’ is Receiving Two Live-Action Movies to Mark 20th-Anniversary

Teased last month, the official Twitter account for the live-action Fullmetal Alchemist film released in 2017 announced two upcoming sequels. The releases serve as part of the 20th-anniversary celebrations of Hiromu Arakawa’s original Fullmetal Alchemist manga.

Sharing both a teaser trailer and poster, the series will see the release of Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter – The Avenger Scar (Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Kanketsu-hen – Fukushūsha Scar) in May. The first sequel will center around Edward Elric’s battle with a villain who targets alchemists working for the state military from Amestris, a country decimated in the previous civil war. While Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter – The Last Transmutation (Hagane no Renkinjutsushi: Kanketsu-hen – Saigo no Rensei), releasing in June focuses on the final arc of the story. Both projects will see the cast from the first film return, along with director Fumihiko Sori.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter – The Avenger Scar is set to release in theaters across Japan May 20, while Fullmetal Alchemist: Final Chapter – The Last Transmutation will premiere June 24. Stay tuned for information regarding a wider global release

For more entertainment news, the Twisted Metal live-action series is coming to Peacock.
