Former Twitter Execs Sue Tech Company Over Unpaid Legal Bills

Three of Twitter‘s former executives are suing the company for over $1 million USD in legal fees over their battle with Elon Musk in regards to their unpaid severance packages.

The suit was filed by Twitter’s ex-CEO Parag Agrawal, the former chief legal officer Vijaya Gadde and former CFO Ned Segal. The three were amongst the senior management that Musk fired when he acquired the company for $44 billion USD. Together, Agrawal, Segal and Gadde complained that the company was legally obligated to cover their expenses in regard to any proceedings tying up their corporate roles.

According to The Financial Times three plaintiffs have also claimed that Twitter “refused to acknowledge its obligations and to remit payment of any invoices.” This happened even after the trio personally incurred “significant expenses.” Attornies of the three former executives stated that the three attempted to request for the payment of expenses in January and then again in March. A spokesperson for Gadde and Segal said, “Once again, Twitter has failed to honor its contractual obligations to pay its bills.” As of now, the SEC has requested Agrawal to retain certain documents relating to his work at Twitter. In the past, Musk has said that he terminated the executives with cause, and therefore was not obligated to provide them with their multi-million severance packages.
