Former President Barack Obama To Host and Narrate Netflix’s National Parks Docuseries

Former President Barack Obama To Host and Narrate Netflix’s National Parks Docuseries

Former President Barack Obama is set to host and narrate Netflix‘s upcoming docuseries Our Great National Parks.

The series, which debuts on the streamer on April 13, centers on a plethora of famous nationals parks across the globe, with footage shot in the U.S., Chile, Indonesia, Kenya and several other locations. While Obama primarily narrates the docuseries, the trailer does see the former president introduce the show on a beach in the introduction.

“Spanning five continents, the series brims with wonder, humor, and optimism as each episode tells the story of a national park through the lives of its wildest residents — both big and exceptionally small — and explores our changing relationship with wilderness,” the official synopsis reads. “Our Great National Parks beckons us to get out and explore, create new ways for these wild places to thrive, and vigorously preserve them for future generations to come.”

The series is a Wild Space production in association with Barack and Michelle Obama‘s Higher Ground Productions, which inked a sizable development deal with Netflix in 2018. Our Great National Parks was first announced on Higher Ground’s development roster last year, but it was unknown that the former president would appear in the series.
