Ford Unveils New Street Truck: The 2025 Maverick Lobo

Ford has unveiled the Maverick Lobo, a new performance-tuned version of its popular Maverick truck, inspired by the street trucks of the mid-1980s to early 2000s. Designed by Ford’s Josh Blundo and engineered by Keith Daugherty, the truck features a lowered ride height, on-road tuned suspension and a powerful 2.0L EcoBoost engine. With a half-inch lower front and 1.12 inches lower rear, the Lobo offers a sportier stance, complemented by a 0.8-inch reduction in roof height.

Driving dynamics are enhanced with torque vectoring, a twin-clutch rear drive unit and bigger dual-piston front brake calipers from the Focus ST. A new Lobo drive mode, inspired by drifting and autocross, improves cornering, grip and stability, making it perfect for closed-course performance driving. The Maverick Lobo also boasts a unique street truck design with a distinctive front style, painted rear bumper and rocker moldings. The black-painted roof and 19-inch black wheels add to its striking appearance. Inside, the Lobo features Grabber Blue and Electric Lime accent stitching, graffiti-inspired seat overprints and the Lobo name embossed on the seats.

Available in standard and high configurations, the Maverick Lobo offers a range of features. The high configuration adds luxuries like heated seats, a 360-degree camera and advanced driver-assist technologies — with Pro Trailer Hitch Assist and Pro Trailer Backup Assist to be available in early 2025.

In celebration of the new truck, Ford partnered with LA Landmark, Randy’s Donuts, transforming its Inglewood location to look like the wheel of the new Lobo and offering limited edition donuts. Ordering for the 2025 Maverick Lobo is open at the time of writing, with prices starting at $40,500 USD and deliveries expected in early 2025.
