Foo Fighters have canceled their performance at this weekend’s Grammy Awards following the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins, SPIN has learned. A few weeks ago, the Foos were added to the lineup along with Nas, H.E.R., Jon Batiste and Chris Stapleton. The ceremony takes place on Sunday in Las Vegas.
The Foos are nominated for three awards, including Best Rock Album. According to Variety, the Grammys are planning a tribute to the late drummer, who died last Friday at the age of 50.
Earlier this week, Foo Fighters canceled all of their upcoming tour dates. “We’re sorry for and share in the disappointment that we won’t be seeing one another as planned,” the band said in a statement. “Instead, let’s take this time to grieve, to heal, to pull our loved ones close, and to appreciate all the music and memories we’ve made together.”
Artists have paid tribute to Hawkins, posting tributes on their social media platforms and some have dedicated performances and covered Foo Fighters at their recent shows.
