Florence Pugh Goes Trouser-Less In a Plunging Bodysuit for New Valentino Campaign

Florence Pugh Goes Trouser-Less In a Plunging Bodysuit for New Valentino Campaign

Florence Pugh’s fashion domination continues as she is the newest star to officially join the Valentino family. The “Don’t Worry Darling” actor was revealed as the face of the Italian fashion house on 26 April as she showcases the iconic Valentino rockstud bags and shoes in a series of gorgeous images shot by fashion photographer, Steven Meisel.

In the photos, Pugh can be seen expressing a range of emotions, from shock to joy, while holding the rockstud bag in a range of colour ways, including Barbiecore pink and metallic silver. And she wasn’t about to let clothes distract from the accessories at hand. For the six campaign images, styled by Joe McKenna, Pugh can be seen rocking the trouser-less trend in plunging bodysuits and studded heels, as well as off-the-shoulder dresses and printed co-ords.

And Pugh’s glam squad followed the theme with looks that complemented her informal outfits. Pat McGrath was responsible for her makeup which features her signature eyeliner flick, dewy skin, and matte nude lip, while Guido Palau kept movement in her blonde bob, which was swept away from her face with a side parting. Nail artist Dawn Sterling also deserves an extra shoutout for Pugh’s nails which feature a nude manicure with adorned with a sing crystal stud on each nail, in keeping with the campaign.

“It’s not just a face, it’s a real partnership based on trust and respect. I met Florence right after my couture show, and I was impressed by her intelligence and bravery, the way she stand for herself, the ability to handle any circumstances with such grace and acumen,” creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli wrote on Instagram on 26 April. “Maybe it’s thanks to her job or maybe this is the reason why she chose to be an actress in the first place. What is actually relevant to me is that this young, fierce talented actress became a friend of mine and together we decided to embark in this campaign. Rockstud is a statement of its own and Florence interpretation of it is exactly what I had in mind to tell this story.”

Pugh has long been a fan of Valentino designs, having worn a side-boob-baring dress for the “A Good Person” premiere in March, a see-through thong-exposing skirt for Valentino’s autumn/winter show at Paris Fashion Week, and a nude dress for the cover of Vanity Fair, to name a few. Furthermore, Pugh made headlines after she defiantly addressed body-shamers who criticised her hot pink see-through dress at the Valentino Haute Couture show, which led to her meeting Piccioli. Now, as the face of the brand, she’s certainly had the last laugh.

“Working with talented people is one thing, but to work with talented people who are great friends feeds the soul! And this campaign truly did feed the soul. Thank you for letting me be me,” Pugh added on Instagram. And the adoration for her didn’t end there. Zendaya, who has also starred in Valentino campaigns, commented with heart eye emojis, and the pair spoke about when they are seeing each other next. Do we spy a Valentino mash-up coming?
