With the transfer window set to open soon, Arsenal need to start looking everywhere possible to find the right players. Investment is needed to strengthen the squad to improve upon last season’s eighth-placed finish.
This time we are looking at the Bundesliga and try to find players that can help the Gunners. There are many exciting talents present so, let us see who they might be.
Ridle Baku
The German has excelled as a right-winger for Wolfsburg but can easily slot in as a right-back as well. Kevin Mbabu along with the 23-year-old has formed a formidable partnership on the right flank and that can be replicated for the Gunners.
At the Emirates stadium, the full-back will be required to provide the width lot of the time and a player like Baku would be perfectly suited to that. With incredible stamina, the youngster can keep going up and down the right side.
The north Londoners could do with a player such as this if they are looking for a replacement for Hector Bellerin who has been linked with a move away. It remains to be seen what fee the German club would want for their star.
Marc Roca
Central midfield is an area where the Gunners could do with some reinforcements. And the Bundesliga is where they can find a lot of gems like the Spaniard who plays for Bayern Munich.
Since moving from Espanyol, Roca has seen his path to the first-team blocked which resulted in fewer appearances for him. But he has all the qualities needed to flourish at the Emirates.
If the north Londoners can partner the 24-year-old with Thomas Partey, they will have a balanced partnership in the middle. The Spaniard can protect the defence and has an outstanding passing range.
Wendell
One position that needs to be addressed by the Gunners is the left-back area. But it is tough to get someone to be a back-up for a guaranteed starter such as Kieran Tierney.
Keeping that in mind, one of the best options for this role would be the Brazilian from Bayer Leverkusen. Wendell finds himself on the bench more often than not as seen by the 12 appearances he has made in the Bundesliga last season.
The 27-year-old is pacey, solid in defence and would be the perfect deputy for Tierney. Convincing him to come to England might be tough due to the limited game time he will get but this would be a smart deal.
Amine Harit
Creativity is something the Gunners struggled with last season and the burden fell entirely on Martin Odegaard and Emile Smith-Rowe. With the Norwegian likely returning to Real Madrid, there is a need for another creative presence.
Other players including Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Brandt have been suggested as an alternative. But the man they should be looking at plays for Dortmund’s arch-rivals FC Schalke.
Harit is a quick, skilful midfielder capable of bringing others into the game using his dribbling and passing both of which will be useful at the Emirates. Signing him would be easier since the Royal Blues got relegated.
Konrad Laimer
It is very rare to find central midfielders who can play in any position across the pitch. Such is the level of skill and talent that Laimer has which enables him to be a dynamo in the middle contributing on both ends.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that the 24-year-old would be the perfect foil to Partey. The Austrian has the pace, defensive nous and attacking qualities needed to succeed in England.
One factor that is in favour of the north Londoners is that Laimer isn’t starting too many matches for RB Leipzig. And if they can work out a deal with the German club, their midfield will be taken care of.
