First Stream Latin: New Music From Reik & Christian Nodal, Ecko’s Debut Album & More

First Stream Latin: New Music From Reik & Christian Nodal, Ecko’s Debut Album & More

Reik and Christian Nodal have joined forces for “Poco,” a heartfelt ranchera about finally overcoming a breakup. “From a kiss to kiss my broken heart has been able to heal/ I want to tell you that to forget you, very little is needed,” read part of the lyrics, composed by Andres Torres, Mauricio Rengifo and Camilo. A melancholic music video, directed by Fernando Lugo in Guadalajara, shows the two musical acts in different settings in the Mexican city. Reik’s lead singer Jesus Navarro says, “Poco” is a genuine collaboration that finds the middle point of both artists — both vocally and melodically.

Camilo, El Alfa, “Bebé” (Sony Music Latin)

On the heels of his playful cumbia, “Vida de Rico,” Camilo now presents a savory bachata dubbed “Bebé.” For his new single, the Latin Grammy-winning artist teamed up with El Alfa, one of the Dominican Republic’s biggest artists, to bring this fresh tune to life. The melody fuses traditional guitar riffs found in bachata with a hint of urban. “I approach music from my imagination, from what my heart asks of me, and right now what it wants is to dance with someone really close,” the Colombian artist expressed. “‘Bebe’ is a tribute to the sound that represents this song with the special affection I feel for the Dominican Republic, a country I love with all my heart.” Co-directed by Evaluna Montaner and Cristian Saumeth, the music video was filmed in Samaná, Las Galeras, and Las Terrenas in the DR.

Ovy on the Drums, Karol G & Danny Ocean, “Miedito o Que?” (King Ovy/Warner Music Latin)

Producer-turned-artist Ovy on the Drums presents his new single “Miedito o Que?” in collaboration with his good friends Karol G and Danny Ocean. Co-written by all three artists, the track is home to feel-good melodies that fuse Latin pop and urban beats. According to Danny, the song is meant to “invite all people to start doing the things they say they want to do so that it has relevance between their words and their actions.” The playful music video, directed by Jose Sagaro of Film Heads in Miami, shows all three acts having the time of their life at a pool party.

Ecko, Young Golden (Universal Music Latin)

Ecko, one of the pioneers of the blossoming trap movement in Argentina, has dropped his debut EP, Young Golden. On the seven-song set, all penned by Ecko, the lyricist fuses Latin trap, hip-hop, and catchy urban melodies and counts with features from Amenazzy, Brytiago, Eladio Carrion, Kiubbah Malon, and Cazzu. “Cama Vacia” is an infectious and sultry trap song featuring his fiery freestyling skills and Cazzu’s dulcet vocals, telling the story of a former couple who is going back-and-forth on what went wrong with their relationship. Another recommended song is “Te Lo Adverti,” where the Argentine trap star narrates the growth of his musical career and sends a message to everyone who didn’t believe in him.
