Filling Pieces and Differs Restore Two ’80s Fiat Panda 4x4s as Part of a Collaborative Collection

Filling Pieces and Differs Restore Two ’80s Fiat Panda 4x4s as Part of a Collaborative Collection

The Amsterdam-based label Filling Pieces is best known for its smart-casual footwear, sneakers, and its complementing clothing line, but now this takes a back seat as the Guillaume Philibert-helmed imprint has worked with car restoration specialists Differs to create two Fiat Panda 4x4s.

Filling Pieces and Differs took two Panda 4×4 models from the 1980s and customized them using the former’s “Caribbean Riviera” and “Luxury Altitude” collections as inspiration. As a result, we find cars that spent their life in Italy and the Netherlands get treated to an extensive year-long restoration that makes them fit for their respective climates, with one in “Signal Yellow” that’s perfect for the beach thanks to its top grain leather seats and beige Alcantara sky-and-side panes that work alongside tonal square-weave floors, and another in “Dark Navy” that’s kitted out in pull-bars, rugged tires, matte black off-roading details, and a bright orange and brown interior that suits a tougher environment.

As per the brand’s press release, Philibert says: “I have always been a fan of vintage car tee’s, so with the apparel, we wanted to explore this sense of nostalgia by creating these pieces as memorabilia for our restored Fiat Panda‘s. The artwork was created by Gabriel Polo, which has this very particular typography that brought that intention to life. We applied the same carefully crafted details and materials on both the cars and the capsule collection to create a single aesthetic where everything lives as part of the same universe.”

Indeed, there is also a complementing capsule collection accompanying the cars. Comprising of five pieces, Filling Pieces x Differs brings a Fiat Panda hat, a one-off Curb sneaker with tonal leather and suede details, a wool flannel, a T-shirt, and a hoodie in an off-white colorway with a custom artwork print on the back.

The capsule collection will be available online and in-stores from today, and the Fiat Pandas will also be for sale privately on a POA basis.
