‘FIFA 22’ Introduces HyperMotion Technology in Official Reveal Trailer

Following the announcement of Paris Saint-Germain striker Kylian Mbappé as FIFA 22‘s cover player for the second year in a row earlier this month, EA Sports follows up with a teaser trailer for the highly anticipated game.

FIFA 22 is powered by HyperMotion which brings “football’s most realistic and immersive gameplay experience to life,” says EA Sports. The new technology integrates motion capture of 22 professional footballers playing at high intensity into the FIFA gameplay. Additionally, EA’s machine learning algorithm parses through more than 8.7 million frames of match footage, writing new animations in real-time to recreate organic movements and interactions on and off the ball.

“Each player experiences FIFA in their own way but on-pitch gameplay is the unifying constant, so we’re excited to offer deep innovation there. HyperMotion elevates that even further on next-gen consoles and Stadia and completely changes the feel of the game,” said EA Sports FIFA GM, Nick Wlodkya. In addition to HyperMotion, the new game will offer new innovative features across Career Mode, VOLTA FOOTBALL, Pro Clubs, and FIFA Ultimate Team including a goalkeeper rebuild and the introduction of FIFA Ultimate Team Heroes.

FIFA 22 is now available for pre-order and will launch worldwide on October 1st via Playstation 4/5, Xbox Series X/S, Origin, Steam, Stadia, and Xbox One. The HyperMotion technology will only be available on the next-gen consoles: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Stadia. Stay tuned for more in-depth updates to come.
