Polyphony Digital has unveiled Ferrari’s entry for Gran Turismo 7’s Vision Project — the concept car, Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo, is a hyper-futuristic single-seater all-wheel drive modeled from Ferrari’s sports prototypes in the ‘60s and ‘70s.
A highly aerodynamic model, the Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo boasts meticulously crafted rear wings, diffusers, as well as air vents on the wheel arches to provide maximum downforce. The V6 engine is sported by models such as 296 GTB, 296 GTS, and 296 GT3, as well as the forthcoming Ferrari 499P hypercar, yet Ferrari’s Vision Gran Turismo concept car is powered by “a more extreme version” that produces more than 1,000 BHP at 9,000 rpm, combined with added power from three accompanying electric motors.
Speaking on the project, Ferrari’s Design Director Flavio Manzoni said, “The collaboration with Gran Turismo™ represented a possibility of giving life to a unique project that was developed within the Advanced Design department of our Styling Centre. We wanted to create a vision of the future designed without constraint, but born from Ferrari’s unrivalled understanding of engineering, aerodynamics and future technologies, and deliver it into the digital world for a whole new audience to experience.”
Releasing officially on December 23, the Ferrari Vision Gran Turismo will be available to all users of Gran Turismo 7. In the meantime, take a closer look at the new Ferrari concept car in the video above.
