Faye Webster and Kyle Ng Connect Once Again for “After The First Kiss”

Faye Webster and Kyle Ng Connect Once Again for "After The First Kiss"

Faye Webster is following up Underdressed at the Symphony with another sensational studio single. In collaboration with Brain Dead founder Kyle Ng and fellow musician Deb Never, Webster has unveiled her first standalone single since the acclaimed album’s release, entitled “After The First Kiss.”

Carried by staggering strings and her classically relatable and repetitive lyrics rooted in themes of romance and reflection, Webster uses “After The First Kiss” as an outlet to reflect on her new love.

“She got me callin’ her ‘wife’ / After the first kiss / A little dramatic, but that’s alright / After the first kiss,” she croons on the first verse. “And I make plans to see her twice / After the first kiss / I take her picture when I close my eyes / After the first kiss.”

When Webster and Ng sat down with Hypebeast just about a year ago, the sentiment that rang true across all of the duo’s answers: “We’re literally just homies.” Webster brought on Ng to direct the music video for “After The First Kiss,” which focuses on opposing LARP-ing teams entering battle, one camp led by Webster, as she strums her matching green guitar in the center of the field, and the other camp led by Never.
