After a little over three years since it was first teased, the Prime Video live-action adaptation of Bethesda Game Studios‘ wildly popular Fallout, is expected to see a premiere sometime in 2024 — under the vision of Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, the creators of HBO‘s Westworld.
Since it was first announced, we’ve seen leaks about who will be starring in lead roles, like that of Walton Goggins and early looks at the set featuring a Super Duper Mart distressed to fit the game’s dystopic atmosphere.
In a previous statement on the live-action adaptation, Nolan and Joy shared “Fallout is one of the greatest game series of all time. Each chapter of this insanely imaginative story has cost us countless hours we could have spent with family and friends. So we’re incredibly excited to partner with Todd Howard and the rest of the brilliant lunatics at Bethesda to bring this massive, subversive, and darkly funny universe to life with Amazon Studios.”
While further details are still scarce at the time of writing, Prime Video did share a post via X that provides some clues, the main one being that Valut 33 will be the subject matter.
While there are thought to be over 120 publicly known vaults throughout the game series, Vault 33 is located in San Diego and is one of the smallest in the game, housing only up to six people — however, the live-action adaptation may venture away from this, as it has with placing the location of the vault in Los Angeles, according to its post.
