Peacock has unveiled the first trailer for The Continental: From the World of John Wick, the three-part prequel series to the John Wick franchise. Viewers are in for an immersive backstory of the infamous hotel-for-assassins, The Continental Hotel, from the point of view of a young Winston Scott in 1970s New York City.

The roughly three-minute trailer is filled with classic Wick-action sequences and witty one-liners and features a slew of new faces. While Colin Woodell stars as hotel concierge Scott, Mel Gibson joins the cast as a main character named Cormac. Other cast members include Mishel Prada, Ben Robson, Hubert Point-Du Jour, Nhung Kate, Jessica Allain, Ayomide Adegun, Jeremy Bobb and Peter Greene.

Basil Iwanyk, Executive Producer, shares the following regarding the series’ overall plot: “The four Wick films take place over a 3-month span. John is either chasing or being chased. There has been no time to take a breath, to allow the audience to dig deeper into the world and its denizens. In  The Continental, we finally have space to explore these characters, how they became who they are, and how The Continental became the epicenter of this world.”

“Winston, your brother stole something from me,” Cormac tells Scott. “What he took is very important, to a lot of dangerous people … Find him – because if you don’t, I’ll bring the weight of this whole institution down on you both.” This sends Scott on his treacherous journey into the hotel’s mysterious underworld, where he hopes to find his brother, Frankie.

The Continental: From the World of John Wick will see a three-night rollout, with Night 1 airing on Peacock on Friday, September 22.  Night 2 will hit Peacock a week later on September 29, and Night 3, the series finale, on October 6.

According to Iwanyk, the series will feature “action that’s crazy cool and inventive” as well as “Easter eggs that will excite the hardcore Wick fans”. But his favorite part? “A vision of ‘70s New York that embodies the sexiness, edginess, and visceral style that the franchise is known for. This show will look/sound/smell cooler than any show out there.”
