If you feel like you’re seeing chessboard motifs much more than usual at the moment, you wouldn’t be the only one. From the Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit, which centred entirely on the board game and just so happened to be one of the year’s most-watched television shows, to the pattern which seem to be popping up all over social media, it seems both chess and checked prints are having a moment.

Right now the coat is in such high demand, it’s virtually impossible to find online, having sold out on Stand’s website, as well as Harvey Nichols and MatchesFashion. Though don’t worry, we’ve done some digging and tracked down an e-commerce website with a full-size range still available.
