‘Evangelion’ and Final Audio Ready EVA2020 “Type-REI” Earbuds

Following a collaboration with ASUS ROG for special-edition graphics cards, Evangelion now works with Japanese headphone brand Final Audio on a pair of EVA2020 “Type-REI” Wireless Earbuds based on the stoic blue-haired pilot Ayanami Rei. The design and colorway of the earphones are based on the blue and white hues of Rei’s prototype Unit-00 chassis featuring a mecha-like paneled case and numbered earbuds.

The sound profile is said to offer clear vocals with powerful bass, and the buds are equipped with a maximum of nine hours of music playback on a single charge with 63 hours of total runtime using the charging case. A special feature of the earbuds is completely original voice guidance from an operator who announces switches in power, pairing, and connection with pre-recorded memos which can be toggled between Japanese and English. Arriving in the custom packaging are five ear tip sets in different sizes and a USB Type-C charging cable.

The Evangelion x Final Audio EVA2020 “Type-REI” earbuds are now available via select retailers at a recommended price of $1,580 HKD (approximately $200 USD). More information on past releases from the series can be found here.
