Just the other day, Elon Musk shared that he would be naming a new Twitter CEO who would be starting in six weeks. At the time, he didn’t refer to the hire by name but implied that it was a woman.
Earlier today, the tech entrepreneur returned to name his replacement, NBCUniversal‘s advertising executive Linda Yaccarino.
As CEO, Yaccarino will focus on business operations at the platform. Musk will remain at the company as CTO and executive chair, redirecting his efforts to product design and software technology.
Musk also suggested a rebrand from Twitter to “X,” which he described as the “everything app.” While the description is rather vague, it seems like Musk will continue to seek out ways to monetize Twitter and drive revenue, whether in the form of ads or new products.
Yaccarino, meanwhile, will assume the CEO position six weeks from today.
I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter!@LindaYacc will focus primarily on business operations, while I focus on product design & new technology.
Looking forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the everything app. https://t.co/TiSJtTWuky
