Multifaceted artist Elliot Fox is gearing up to present his latest exhibition, “PSYCHO GEOLOGY.” The immersive showcase curated by Georgia Stephenson sees the artist continue to explore his Cornish background through a fictional viewpoint, turning to science fiction for inspiration.
Fox looks to the Neolithic period and aims to unlock west Cornwall’s socio-economical history by dissecting its unruly scientific background. From folklore traditions to the creation of surf culture and the county’s industrial legacy, mounted hybrid sculptures channel Cornwall’s lively scenery, while unused surfboards are molded into experimental panels that nod to the ocean-based practice and the 1980s surf subculture in the English region.
The emerging artist also presents a series of UV-printed digital artworks stacked within hefty metallic frames that mirror Cornwall’s vast cultural pool, accompanied by an acoustic soundscape to complete the display in collaboration with independent publisher Foolscap Editions.
