‘Elden Ring’ Receives a Nostalgic Game Boy Demake

Known for its detailed open-world and endless possibilities for exploration, Elden Ring is a cult favorite among gamers. One fan, however, was curious as to what the game would look like if it were made for Game Boy.

Reddit user Shintendo has shared their redesign of Elden Ring as an 8-bit Game Boy demo. Staged in the game’s Chapel of Anticipation, the minute-long demo shows a Tarnished who meets its match against the Grafted Scion. Following the encounter, a “You Died” message appears.

Shintendo explained that they created the demo using GB Studio 3.0, calling it ”a really impressive and brand new piece of software,” and that it will be playable on actual hardware. They plan to release a full-length demo come the end of May on Itch.io.

In other gaming news, Sony is asking developers to build time-Limited demos to pad out its PlayStation Plus service.
