El Paso non-profit hosts first Wellness Expo to promote healthy living

A local non-profit organization is hosting its first-ever expo to empower El Pasoans to lead healthier lives.

Strive Now, an El Paso Del Norte Community Foundation fund, is hosting its inaugural Wellness Expo Thursday in east El Paso to promote everyday healthy living habits.

The expo will kick off at 5:30 p.m. and will be held at the El Paso Community College campus at 9050 Viscount Boulevard, Building A, near The Fountains at Farah shopping mall.

It will be free and open to the public.

The expo will feature booths offering financial services, meal prep sampling, personal trainer services and free massages courtesy of the EPCC Physical Therapy Department.

The expo will also serve as a fundraising event to support the development of the Strive Now Program and Strive Core Habits app, scheduled to launch in the fall as well as a ceremony recognizing the recipients of a Strive Now scholarship.

KFOX14/CBS4 spoke with Strive Now’s Founder Israel Castro who said,

Together, we can strive for a healthier and brighter future for El Paso.

“Our mission at Strive Now is to empower and inspire confidence in our members through mentorship, workshops, and community engagement,” said Castro. “We believe that by fostering daily growth and purpose, we can create positive change in the El Paso community.”

This is the non-profit’s first expo, however, due to the early response, Castro said they are already planning a follow-up for the winter.

Besides building expos, according to Castro, Strive Now helps El Paso teenagers find everyday purpose through good habits through workshops and talks.
