As The Killers prepare for the release of their highly anticipated sixth studio album, Imploding the Mirage, the fabled indie rock recently released a remix package for the project’s lead single “Caution.” “Caution,” which features a scintillating guitar solo from former Fleetwood Mac guitarist Lindsey Buckingham, was released back in March, 2020 via Island Records alongside an Americana-themed music video.
The celebrated band behind “Mr. Brightside” tapped Madism, GRYNN, and Grammy Award-winning electronic band Clean Bandit to give the single a shot of dance music adrenaline. Clean Bandit, who are perhaps best known for their global smash “Rather Be,” kick off the bundle with their foot-tapping remix of “Caution,” alchemizing pop and house flavors into a radio-friendly rendition.
Dutch young gun Madism follows with a stunning tropical house edit of “Caution,” which completely flips the original single on its head with melancholic guitar plucks and bubbly chord progressions reminiscent of Galantis. Madism does a fantastic job of repurposing the track atop a refreshingly original backbone while paying homage to the iconic voice of The Killers’ frontman Brandon Flowers. GRYNN follows by closing out the EP with a bouncy future house rework, opting to produce a tune for the clubs.
