Early Access Version of ‘Dune: Spice Wars’ Now Supports Multiplayer Modes

Almost two months after its release back in April, the early access version of Shiro Games’ Dune: Spice Wars is finally getting multiplayer support. Announced over at the developer’s update notes, the new feature will support up to four players in a 2v2 matchup or alternatively you can go full-on free-for-all.

Of course, if you prefer playing alone, you can also introduce AIs into your match and change their difficulty settings as you please, along with the size of the map and other details like the amount of sandworm activity.

On top of introducing the long-awaited multiplayer mode, Shiro has also worked on a handful of other improvements to Dune: Spice Wars, such as the addition of new regions, resolutions, events, buildings, and Underworld Headquarter buildings. Other mechanics have also been reworked to streamline the experience, including balance tweaks for the various factions, improved AI, and the removal of Spice freighters.

Dune: Spice Wars early access is now available over on Steam.

In other gaming news, the open beta date has reportedly leaked for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.
