With the inaugural Miami Grand Prix just around the corner, Electronic Arts and Codemasters have now unveiled a new gameplay trailer for F1 22, featuring the Miami International Autodrome itself.
Slated for release in July, the latest installment to the racing franchise sees a host of new features being added, including the long-awaited support for virtual reality headsets to provide racing sim enthusiasts an even more immersive experience. Hoping to allow you to live the life of a Formula 1 driver, the game also features a brand new F1 Life hub that provides players the opportunity to show off all the gear and cars they’ve earned in the game, while expanded gameplay options now cover things like sprint races, adaptive AI that better matches your own skill level, and custom options across formation laps, safety car laps and pit stops. There’ll be returning game modes such as online multiplayer, My Team, and the 10-Year Career. As you’d expect, the team at Codemasters has also adjusted the physics of the car to adapt to the 2022 season’s new aero regulations as well as tire models to improve handling.
For those interested, EA and Codemasters’ F1 22 will arrive on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC on July 1. Pre-orders are now open for the game’s Champions Edition, which celebrates all four world champions on the current grid: Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso.
In other related news, Audi and Porsche have officially announced plans to join the F1 grid.
