Dying Light 2‘s release date is just around the corner, and developer Techland is aware that many gamers might not have had the chance to get their hands on a next-gen console yet given supply shortages, so it has now announced that those who purchase the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One versions of the game will receive free upgrades when they change over to the PlayStation 5 of Xbox Series X/S.
Once you’ve converted over to the new platforms, the game will offer three different rendering modes for you to choose from. If you’re looking for higher framerates, a Performance mode will let your console push the game up to 60 fps or more, while a Resolution mode will prioritize 4K graphics. An extra Quality mode will enhance graphics even further with ray-tracing enabled.
Dying Light 2 will launch for all consoles except for its Nintendo Switch cloud version on February 4. Those on the handheld will have to wait for another six months as Techland hopes to better optimize the experience for players.
