Dune: Part Two is proving to be burgeoning success at the global box office, surpassing $500 million USD. The Zendaya, Timothée Chalamet, Florence Pugh and Austin Butler has been hugely successful it just its first 10 days on the big screen. It has now become the highest grossing film of 2024 globally and domestically.
The film has had the strongest turnout in China garnering $36 million USD with the UK coming in second at $32.8 million USD. The sequel has quickly become the seventh-fastest film hit $100 million USD from IMAX releases. The film, which was co-produced by Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment and cost the studios a total of $190 million USD to produce and an additional $100 million USD to promote around the world. So far, the film as more than broke even. Starring alongside Chalamet, Zendaya, Butler and Pugh are Christopher Walken, Anya Taylor-Joy, Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin and Stellan Skarsgård.
So far, Dune: Part Two surpassed the first film domestically ($108 million USD) since it was released both in theaters and on HBO Max, stifling ticket sales for the hybrid release model. Proving to be a major it in the EU as well, Germany came in with $25 million USD and France $24.9 million USD just ahead of Australia’s $15.6 million USD.
