‘Dune: Part 2’ To Premiere Earlier Than Expected

Dune: Part 2 is heading to theaters sooner than originally planned.

Just hours after Disney announced it was pushing back the premiere of Marvel StudiosBlade, Warner Bros. revealed that Denis Villeneuve‘s Dune: Part 2 will open in theaters on the Marvel pic’s original premiere date, November 3, 2023. The new date is two weeks earlier than the film’s previously-scheduled release.

Hailing from Legendary Pictures, with producers Mary Parent, Cale Boyer, Tanya LaPointe and Villeneuve, the Dune sequel will see the return of several actors, including Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgår, Javier Bardem, Charlotte Rampling and Stephen McKinley Henderson. Additionally, Part 2 welcomes a bevy of famous faces like Academy Award winner Christopher Walken, Black Widow star Florence Pugh, Elvis actor Austin Butler, and James Bond‘s Léa Seydoux.

Here’s the official synopsis for the follow-up: “This film will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee.”

Part 2 began production in July. Stay tuned for more updates on the film, including first-look images and trailers, as they become available.

Elsewhere in entertainment, Sydney Sweeney will star in and executive produce Sony Pictures’ new Barbarella movie.
