Drake’s ‘Certified Lover Boy’ Breaks Apple Music Records

Drake’s ‘Certified Lover Boy’ Breaks Apple Music Records

Drake‘s latest studio effort, Certified Lover Boy, has broken several records over at Apple Music.

The OVO head’s 21-track album officially holds the biggest album debut in Apple Music history, overtaking his own record set in 2018 with Scorpion and making him the most streamed artist. Certified Lover Boy also set a new 2021 record for the most-streamed album in less than 24 hours and hit No. 1 on Apple Music’s Top Albums charts in 145 countries on the first day of its release. Meanwhile, Drizzy’s tracks “Girls Want Girls (feat. Lil Baby),” “Champagne Poetry” and “Fair Trade (feat. Travis Scott)” are the three biggest song debuts on the platform — surpassing his own cut “Nonstop” — tracks from the album claimed the No. 1 spot on 51 Daily Top 100 charts and they held the top 21 spots in 18 countries during its release.

CLB boasts a stacked list of guest appearances from the likes of Lil Durk, GIVEON, JAY-Z, Future, Young Thug, 21 Savage, Tems, Project Pat, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross and Kid Cudi, and was described by Drake as “A combination of toxic masculinity and acceptance of truth which is inevitably heartbreaking.” He added, “Executive produced by me, Noah “40” Shebib, Oliver El-Khatib, and Noel Cadastre. Dedicated to Nadia Ntuli and Mercedes Morr. RIP.”

In related news, André 3000 released a statement regarding the Kanye West song “Life of the Party,” a cut that Drake leaked during an episode of Sound 42.
