Drake Extends Streaming Songs Record With ‘Laugh Now Cry Later’

The song marks his ninth No. 1, five more than his closest competitors.

Drake extends his record for the most No. 1s in the history of Billboard’s Streaming Songs chart with “Laugh Now Cry Later” featuring Lil Durk, which debuts atop the survey dated Aug. 29.

In the tracking week ending Aug. 20, “Laugh Now Cry Later” earned 69.8 million U.S. streams, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.

The song is Drake’s ninth No. 1 on Streaming Songs, which began in 2013. He now has more than double his next-closest competition; Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift and Travis Scott boast four leaders each.

“Laugh Now Cry Later” is Drake’s second Streaming Songs ruler in 2020, following three-week No. 1 “Toosie Slide,” which crowned the list from April to May earlier this year.

Concurrently, “Laugh Now Cry Later” bows at No. 2 on the multi-metric Billboard Hot 100, Drake’s record-extending 41st top 10.
