Don Toliver Guides Us Through His New World on ‘HARDSTONE PSYCHO’

Don Toliver Guides Us Through His New World on 'HARDSTONE PSYCHO'

When Don Toliver first flexed the HARDSTONE PSYCHO biker gang jacket to signal his return with “BANDIT” back in January, it was clear the rapper was back on road for real – and had envisioned an entire, expansive universe for his next project.

After continuing to sharpen the “Cozy Cowboy, Psycho Superintendent” aesthetic with more leather-laden outfits and motocross moments in visuals like “DEEP IN THE WATER” and “ATTITUDE,” the Cactus Jack rapper has opened the iron-clad gates to his fourth studio album, which proves to be a poignant encapsulation of the Cactus Jack rapper’s enigmatic ethos.

Spanning four disks – each of which boasts a digestable four tracks –HARDSTONE PSYCHO veers off into four different sonic pockets, making for a masterful showcase of the rapper’s versatility. Diverse yet cohesive, the Love Sick follow-up allows the rapper to experiment, which he does intentionally, ensuring to not steer too far off the dirt road.

Donny stays in the driver’s seat for most of the 16-track offering, delivering most of HARDSTONE PSYCHO solo; though he does suit up a select few close friends and collaborators to rep Psycho Valley, including Kodak Black on “BROTHER STONE,” Charlie Wilson and Cash Cobain on “ATTITUDE,” Future and Metro Boomin on “PURPLE RAIN,” Teezo Touchdown on “BACKSTREETS,” and Travis Scott on “ICE AGE” and “INSIDE.”

Stream HARDSTONE PSYCHO on Spotify, Apple Music and all other DSPs now.
