God will make a way is one of Don Moen’s greatest and most popular projects. The song has found a way into Christian praise and worship and has changed it since then. With numerous variations, numbers, nominations, and awards, I bring to you a review of this masterpiece.
God will make a way was released as part of Moen’s fourth studio album in 1990, Eternal God.
Released under his then record label, Integrity Hosanna Music Sony was produced by Tom Brooks, Michael Coleman, Ed Lindquist, and Moen himself in CD, download, and tape format.
Don Moen got the inspiration for this song when his brother, sister-in-law, and children got in an auto car accident and lost their oldest son while their other three children survived but were seriously injured. The song was later dedicated to his brother’s family.
The track is a sober and solemn song that talks about how God makes the possible happen in the midst of impossibilities.
It has millions of views on YouTube, streams, and downloads. Many of the listeners have used the song in their toughest and roughest times to remind themselves about God’s love, promises, faithfulness, and power.
Here are the lyrics.
…song opens with Moen playing a soft, meticulous tune on the piano:
The first stanza starts by reminding us about God’s promises in the Bible about caring for us and not worrying. It further reminds us of God’s supremacy and how the Lord’s ever-knowing, ever-present self works in ways we can’t even think or visualize.

Also, it talks about how God will lead us in times of confusion and travail, beckoning us to move closer to God.
Before repeating the main message of the song, God making a way when there seems to be none, he assured us that in those tough times God will continue to renew our strength and continue to love us.
{Verse 1}
God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way, He will make a way
The melodious and harmonious chorus continues to carry on the main message of the song, reminding us over and over again.
{Chorus}
God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way, He will make a way
Stanza two brings up these situations in relation to what one can go through like the wilderness, desert or a very wide and deep river.
TOP SONGS FOR YOU:
Although many of us will never have to be in situations like this, we’ve come to a certain point in our lives where it felt like we were; it was dark, lonely, confusing and we didn’t know where to go or how to begin. Moen tells us even in those difficult situations God will continue to lead us.
He brings up God’s promise in the Bible again to remind us that even though Heaven and Earth may pass away, God’s word and his promises never will and every day comes with a new possibility of God fulfilling those promises.
{Verse 2}
By a roadway in the wilderness, He’ll lead me
And rivers in the desert will I see
Heaven and Earth will fade
But His Word will still remain
He will do something new today
God will make a way is an emotional, touching, and comforting worship song that tells us not to forget God’s undying, unconditional love, support, and care for us.
It really is a wonderful addition to your playlist!
