The Holdovers breakout star Dominic Sessa is supposedly set to lead the upcoming biopic, Tony.
Deadline reports that the 21-year-old actor is attached to star as the late Anthony Bourdain, while Matt Johnson is set to direct and produce alongside Tim and Trevor White of Star Thrower Entertainment (King Richard) and Matt Miller. Lou Howe and Todd Bartels will serve as scriptwriters, and Emily Rose will executive produce. A24 is also reportedly in negotiations to acquire the title. Additional details, including a plot and release date, are yet to be confirmed.
Bourdain began cooking for a number of New York City restaurants in the ’80s and ’90s, including the now-closed Brasserie Les Halles, before becoming a New York Times best-selling author. He began his documentarian career as the host of A Cook’s Tour in 2002 and went on to lead No Reservations, The Layover and Parts Unknown until his suicide in 2018 at 61 years old.
