Doechii Performs From a Murky Swamp in New “Stressed” Visual

Doechii is embracing her Florida roots in the new visual for her track “Stressed.” The song initially debuted as a live version on her October 10 COLORS performance, followed by a release on streaming services about a week later.

Intertwining rap and R&B, Doechii uses “Stressed” as a platform to relay her anxieties about newfound stardom and all the expectations that come along with it.

“I must be lost in my regrets / I must be down, I must be stressed,” she raps. “I’ve got like thirteen years of age / That I ain’t still got off my chest.”

“”Stressed” is basically me divorcing all my bad habits,” Doechii told Billboard. “like alcohol abuse, drug abuse, and just like negative poor behaviors that I recently have quit, which is great.”

The music video, created in partnership with Billboard and Honda, plays on Doechii’s identity as a self-proclaimed “swamp princess,” hailing from Tampa, Florida.

Set in a murky but lush landscape, Doechii performs on a stage surrounded by clouds of smoke and vibrant green plants. Overhead, lanterns softly illuminate the makeshift marsh, while backup dancers groove in tandem with the swamp princess.
