DJ Khaled is Teaming Up With Roc Nation to Promote the Ryder Cup

Over the past few years golf has been given a new injection of enthusiasm thanks to pop culture icons. Of those, DJ Khaled has been one of the game’s most impassioned talisman. Scroll though his Instagram and you’ll hear the Miami resident reciting some of his new favorite catchphrases like “Let’s go golfing!” and “Bomb! Right down the middle.” The DJ even just announced his first ever golf outing, the We the Best Foundation Golf Classic, which will be taking place on July 20 and feature a star-studded cast of players. As it turns out, Khaled’s newfound love of the sport isn’t going anywhere.

Just announced yesterday, DJ Khaled alongside Jay-Z and his label Roc Nation, will be partnering with one of golf’s most storied competitions: the Ryder Cup. For those unfamiliar with the Ryder Cup, the competition pits the best male golfers from the United States and Europe against one another over three days of head-to-head matches. This year it is being held at Marco Simone Golf & Country Club just outside of Rome, Italy, and Roc Nation Sports International will be there along with a variety of athletes and entertainers producing content throughout the week.

The goal for Ryder Cup director Guy Kinnings is to expose the tournament to a new generation of fans. “Golf has undergone a popularity boom in recent years, with more diverse and younger fans following and playing the sport. The Ryder Cup has always been the moment when golf enters mainstream culture and, with Roc Nation by our side, we can further tap into this boom by creating cross-over content that entices new, younger fans to watch and follow the event.”

Tune in to the event when it kicks off September 29 from Italy, and keep an eye out for coverage on Hypegolf.
