DJ Khaled has shared the first single from his new album God Did. The new song, “Staying Alive,” features Drake and Lil Baby. God Did, the follow-up to last year’s Khaled Khaled, is out August 26 (via We the Best Music Group/Epic Records). The song’s chorus is an interpolation of the Bee Gees song of the same name; the Gibb brothers are listed as lyricists/composers in the new song’s credits. Find “Staying Alive” below.
Drake and DJ Khaled are longtime collaborators. Over the years, they’ve shared “Fed Up,” “I’m on One,” “No New Friends,” “For Free,” “To the Max,” “Popstar,” and “Greece.” Khaled has also worked often with Lil Baby, collaborating on “You Stay,” “Weather the Storm,” “Every Chance I Get,” “I Did It,” and “Body in Motion.” Drake and Lil Baby, meanwhile, have worked together on “Yes Indeed,” “Never Recover,” “Wants and Needs,” and the Certified Lover Boy track “Girls Want Girls.”
Drake released his album Honestly, Nevermind earlier this year. He recently had to call off a concert after contracting COVID-19. Read Pitchfork’s track review of Drake’s “Sticky.”
