Disney+ has dropped off the official trailer for Star Wars: Visions, an upcoming animated anthology series from Lucasfilm comprised of nine short films made by seven leading Japanese anime studios.
“Lucasfilm is partnering with seven of the most talented anime studios in Japan to bring their signature style and unique vision of the Star Wars galaxy to this inspired new series,” James Waugh, executive producer and VP Franchise Content & Strategy at Lucasfilm, told Deadline. “Their stories showcase the full spectrum of bold storytelling found across Japanese animation, each told with a freshness and voice that expands our understanding of what a Star Wars story can be, and celebrates a galaxy that has been such an inspiration to so many visionary storytellers.”

The trailer introduces a multitude of new heroes, villains, aliens and lightsabers across a slew of fast-paced action scenes. One scene reveals an impressive eight-blade red lightsaber in combat, while another clip illustrates a showdown between a female character with a a total of six red lightsabers attached to her body and a male hero with a singular blue lightsaber.
Disney+ will release both Japanese and English versions of the series. The English iteration enlists voice actors Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Lucy Liu, Henry Golding, Simu Liu, George Takei, Alison Brie, David Harbour, Karen Fukuhara, Bobby Moynihan, Neil Patrick Harris, Kimiko Glenn, Kyle Chandler, James Hong, Jordan Fisher and several others.
