Lucasfilm recently announced a new animated anthology series slated to expand the Star Wars universe titled Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi.
The series will explore many prequel era Jedi giving fans an understanding of the back story involving Count Dooku before he fell to the Dark Side, his apprentice Qui-Gon Jinn and the fan-favorite character Ahsoka Tano. With the introduction of Ahsoka, the series also teases the future Padawan, as revealed in new promotional teaser images of the teaser.
The Star Wars official Twitter page posted two images that teased audiences of the “origins of Ahsoka.” In one image, it shows a group of Togrutas in a dimly lit room, with one holding an infant Ahsoka. It is speculated that this is the mother. In another more vibrantly depicted image set in a Togruta village, Ahsoka’s mother can be seen clearly carrying her. Recently, Ahsoka has been featured in many episodes in various projects within the Star Wars universe.
After much speculation, it also appears that Liam Neeson is reprising his role, albeit a voice one for Qui-Gon Jinn. Back in April, he said that he would be willing to play Qui-Gon Jinn again but just not for a TV series. Neeson will reprise his Phantom Menace role though the plot of the series is currently still under wraps.
Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi will premiere on Disney+ in Fall 2022.
