Diplo & Miguel’s ‘Don’t Forget My Love’ Hits No. 1 on Dance/Mix Show Airplay Chart

Diplo and Miguel lift to the summit of Billboard’s Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart (dated April 9) with “Don’t Forget My Love.” The song is Miguel’s first No. 1 and Diplo’s initial solo leader, following three trips to the top as part of Major Lazer and one as half of Silk City.

As a member of Major Lazer (with Walshy Fire and Ape Drums), Diplo has reigned with “Lean On,” with DJ Snake and featuring MØ (13 weeks at No. 1, 2015); “Light It Up,” featuring Nyla and Fuse ODG (two, 2016); and “Lay Your Head on Me,” featuring Marcus Mumford (2020). With Silk City (with Mark Ronson), Diplo has led with “New Love,” featuring Ellie Goulding (two, 2021).

Overall, Diplo has 19 solo Dance/Mix Show Airplay entries, including 11 top 10s. Miguel previously reached the chart as a featured vocalist on Kygo’s “Remind Me To Forget” (No. 18, 2018).

“Love” locks in core-dance airplay on outlets including Music Choice’s Dance/EDM channel, KMVQ-HD2 San Francisco and WZFL (Revolution 93.5) Miami, according to Luminate, formerly MRC Data. (The Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart measures radio airplay on a select group of full-time dance stations, along with plays during mix shows on nearly 80 top 40-formatted reporters.)

Additionally on the Dance/Mix Show Airplay chart, Kx5 – a new joint venture between superstar DJs Kaskade and Deadmau5 – flies 17-10 with “Escape,” featuring singer Hayla, who earns her first top 10. It’s Kaskade’s 17th top 10, granting him a solo share of the fifth-most among all acts since the chart launched in August 2003; only David Guetta (31), Rihanna (24), Justin Bieber and Calvin Harris (20 each) have more.

“Escape” marks Deadmau5’s seventh top 10. Kaskade and Deadmau5 have tallied three No. 1s each, including two together: “Move for Me” (for two weeks in 2008) and “I Remember” (two, 2009). “Escape” is drawing core-dance airplay on SiriusXM’s BPM, Music Choice’s Dance/EDM channel and iHeartRadio’s Evolution Network, among other stations.

On the multi-metric Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, Martin Garrix and Zedd zoom in with “Follow” (No. 15). The song starts with 1.1 million U.S. streams and 600 downloads, also good for a No. 14 debut on Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales.

“Follow” is the 45th Hot Dance/Electronic Songs appearance for Garrix, who ties Harris for the fourth-most in the chart’s history. (Guetta leads with 63.) The track is Zedd’s 25th entry.
