Did Justin Bieber Really Pay 500 ETH for Bored Ape Yacht Club #3001?

Bored Ape #3001 sold for an absurd amount of ETH over the weekend and many are speculating that it was none other than Justin Bieber who purchased it.

Bought for a hefty sum of 500 ETH ($1.29 million USD), many are questioning the decision as at that the time of sale, Bored Ape #3001 was set at a market price of 80 ETH ($208,000 USD) while the BAYC floor price was at 104 ETH. It seems he overpaid as this particular BAYC does not have any rare traits — just sad eyes and a black T-shirt.

While the OpenSea account is scattered with a lot of other random NFTs, people are saying it is, in fact, his account as it is named “JustinBieberNFTS” and the wallet carries the inBetweeners NFT that Bieber has as his current Twitter profile picture. Justin Bieber has yet to declare ownership of BAYC #3001.

In other NFT news, Minecraft NFT Project “Blockverse” labeled a scam after disappearing with $1.2 million USD.
