Devin Booker Announced as NBA 2K23 Cover Athlete

Following an earlier report that Michael Jordan will be gracing the special covers for NBA 2K23‘s Michael Jordan Edition and Championship Edition, 2K Games has now announced that Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker will be the official cover athlete for NBA 2K23 across its standard and cross-gen digital deluxe editions. A limited WNBA Edition will also feature WNBA legends Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird.

“I’ve been a huge NBA 2K fan since I was a kid, and it’s surreal to finally join the exclusive club of basketball greats who’ve been cover athletes,” said Booker. “I’m also honored to share this year’s covers with the iconic Michael Jordan, who changed the game for all players who came after him, as well as two of the all-time WNBA GOATs, Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird, who continue to make a huge impact on the game.”

Coming off a career-high 26.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.1 steals last season and leading his team to a franchise-record of 64 games in the 2021-2022 regular season, Booker was selected as member of the All-NBA First team and finished fourth in the race for NBA MVP. At just 25 years old, Booker becomes the first Suns player ever to be featured on the cover of an NBA 2K game since it was first released in 1999.

In retrospect, Number 23 for 2K23 was an obvious choice for 2K Games as the all-time great Michael Jordan appears for the fourth time on an NBA 2K cover. The latest announcements also solidify the second consecutive year 2K has chosen to feature a WNBA star on its covers, with two-time MVP Candace Parker selected last year.

NBA 2K23 Standard Edition is set to retail for $60 USD for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, meanwhile, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions are priced at $70 USD. Michael Jordan Edition is priced at $99.99, and the Championship Edition comes in at $149.99 with a 12-month subscription to NBA League Pass.

Elsewhere in gaming, Nintendo readies a special-edition Splatoon 3 Switch OLED.
