Next year, DC will celebrate the 35th anniversary of Tim Burton’s Batman with a concert tour of the movie’s score.
The latest addition to the DC in Concert series will see a live symphony perform Danny Elfman’s score in front of a projection of Batman, which starred Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson as the Caped Crusader and the Joker. Costumes are encouraged, and autograph opportunities and merchandise round out the event.
The North American trek includes shows in Washington, DC, Tampa, Atlanta, and Portland before heading across the pond for concerts in Paris and London. Pre-sale tickets go on sale Wednesday, September 13th at 10:00 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster (use code STUDIO), while the general sale begins Friday, September 15th. Once tickets are sold out, you can also find deals over at StubHub, or Viagogo for the international dates.

The Batman score marked the first in a long series of collaborations between Elfman and Burton and became a defining jewel in Elfman’s crown as a respected composer. Earlier this year, however, Elfman was sued by a woman who accused him of sexual misconduct for failing to make payments in their settlement.
The last big screen adaptation of Batman was, of course, Matt Reeves’ The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson. Looking ahead, It director Andy Muschietti is set to direct The Brave and the Bold, a tale about a “Bat family” based on Grant Morrison’s comic books.
