Danny Masterson moved to maximum security prison

Danny Masterson has been moved to the maximum security Corcoran State Prison in central California, where he’ll likely spend the remainder of his 30 years-to-life sentence.

Masterson, who was convicted in a retrial last year for drugging and raping two women in the early 2000s, had previously spent the beginning of his sentence at a Los Angeles county jail and later the North Kern state prison intake facility. Now, the former That ’70s Show actor will reside in a Level 4 maximum security housing unit at Corcoran, which once held the late Charles Manson and Bobby Kennedy assassin Sirhan Sirhan.

Currently, Masterson won’t be eligible for parole until 2042, when he’ll be 66 years old. The actor was initially arrested in 2020 on three charges of forcible rape. After a hung jury resulted in a mistrial in 2022, Masterson was convicted on two counts in a 2023 retrial with the jury deadlocked on the third. Prosecutors alleged that Masterson used his status in the Church of Scientology to manipulate his victims, and the case sparked an LAPD investigation into the church.

Masterson denied all allegations and did not testify at either trial. As a result of the accusations, Masterson was fired from the Netflix show The Ranch and excluded from the streaming service’s 2023 That ’70s Show revival, That ’90s Show.
