Danny Elfman announces career retrospective concerts with full band and orchestra

Danny Elfman has confirmed a pair of special concerts taking place in California in early November, during which he’ll play songs from Oingo Boingo, his solo career, and his numerous film and television themes with the backing of a full band, orchestra, and choir.

The shows will take place at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles on Saturday, November 2nd and at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View on Sunday, November 3rd.

A Live Nation ticket pre-sale is set for Thursday, August 15th at 10:00 a.m. PT via Ticketmaster (use code CREATE), with a public on-sale following on Friday, August 16th.

Joining Elfman will be a band featuring Stu Brooks on bass (Dub Trio, Lady Gaga); Nili Brosh on guitar (Dethklok); Robin Finck on guitar (Nine Inch Nails, Guns N’ Roses); and Ilan Rubin on drums (Nine Inch Nails, Angels & Airwaves). The orchestra will be conducted by Steve Bartek, original guitarist of Oingo Boingo. Johnny Jewel x Desire will open both shows.

Fans can anticipate a setlist featuring material from Elfman’s time with Oingo Boingo as well as songs from his solo career, plus tracks from his numerous films and television scores, including Alice in Wonderland, Batman, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice, The Simpsons, Wednesday, and more.

Earlier this year, composer Nomi Abadi filed a defamation lawsuit against Elfman, following remarks he made about a settlement they had previously reached after she accused him of sexual harassment and misconduct.
