Danny DeVito has officially joined the cast of Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures and Rideback’s Haunted Mansion reboot.
Not a lot of information regarding the veteran actor’s character is known, except for the fact that he will play “a smug professor.” This role marks DeVito’s first big-screen studio performance since 2019’s Jumanji: The Next Level and he will star alongside LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson and Rosario Dawson.
Dear White People’s Justin Simien will helm the reboot as his big-budget studio debut, Katie Dippold will write the film, Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich will produce while Nick Reynolds executive produce.
Haunted Mansion is based on Disney’s signature theme park ride and will follow the 2003 comedy horror starring Eddie Murphy, Terence Stamp, Nathaniel Parker, Marsha Thomason and Jennifer Tilly.
